8 For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These things are the beginning of the birth pangs [the intolerable anguish and suffering].
On the 7th of October 2023, Israel was attacked by the terrorist group Hamas. It is now day 13 of the Israel-Gaza war raging across the Middle East. In the midst of all the accusations and protests, antisemitism and violence, demonstrations are increasing exponentially in the cities of many nations. It would seem that the media has done well in fuelling the outrage. Why is the most powerful nation always the one to blame? We see this in the Ukraine and Russia war now over 600 days long. Like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, that war has also been going on for decades.
It's not my intention in this article to profess my allegiance to any side and nor is it my purpose to delve into the politics of these historic conflicts. Things are speeding along and the words of scripture shout at us. ‘See, can you not contemplate the times’?
